Danni has been such a force for change with regard to financing pilot training. Her story is remarkable and we were delighted to be able to award her the CATS Aviation ATPL Distance Learning course.
“Those who have caught the aviation bug will be well aware of how the desire to fly consumes your every thought. For me this started when I was 7 years old after a flight to Egypt with my parents, where I was completely mesmerised by all aspects of flight. Seven years later I finally began to build a few hours in my logbook. I always recall the feeling of contentment when I completed my first take off, knowing that there is no other career in the world I would rather have. In June 2022, I passed my skills test and gained my Private Pilot License.
Despite my best efforts, funding my training continues to be the biggest challenge. I have worked tirelessly during my training to be an advocate for funding assistance for aspiring pilots, so much so that I have held meetings with the Aviation Minister, and flight school and Airline CEOs to discuss possible routes for cadetships and scholarships. After years of campaigning, I still find myself in the same situation and struggling to afford to continue training. I believe I would be worthy of receiving this CATS ATPL course, and would be incredibly grateful for this chance to be able to progress my training and be closer to reaching my dream career. I appreciate that the profession of flying is competitive, intricate and challenging. I am, however, ready to put in all the time and effort that is crucial to carry out such a demanding and responsible duty with pride and passion.”
